My Tree Layout Form
After reviewing many forms used by Genealogist and family tree developers, I didn't like how the forms told the picture of your family. It was ackward and hard to follow.
Many years ago I developed a new layout that would at a glance make it easy for the reader to follow and understand what they were looking at.
I have never had any complaints on this new look. Family members were all in agreement this new look made reviewing you family tree easy for all ages.
This year I made a few more changes to my layout. My goal is to fit as much important information on to one page which no other form currently can do.
Newest changes (2015):
1. Added a quick way to see how old newly weds are under the mariage date. You have to agree, it is easy to see the age verses knowing the birth date and marriage dates. No one will do a calulation even though it is provided.
2. Served the Military? I am going back and adding service dates in. If I missed someone you know, please contact me.
3. Going the extra step and adding spouse parents names when known. This can help confirm other researchers later on.
4. Changed the quick child list and started adding the birth years next to the childs first name.
I hope you like the new changes. I have many trees to update so it will be a little while before I can go back and get everything updated.
Wouldn't that be very cool if say Ancestry.com would adopt my form. Would be a programming nightmare for developers.
