My Paternal Grandfather

Albert Raymond Seymour was born the 21st of April 1899 in Toledo, Ohio.

Sometime between 1910 and 1917 when Albert was between 11 and 18 Harvey and his family moved to Detroit.

Research showed Harvey and Albert registered for WW1 draft at the same time when they both worked for Paige Detroit Motor Company 12 Sep 1918.

When Albert was 29, his father passed away at the age of 50. Albert the oldest of his 2 younger brothers (John and Thurlow) had to work to help support the family after his father passed. He did all sorts of odd jobs from washing dishes to washing walls.

Two years before Albert's father passed away, his parents divorce and his mother Libby re-marries Herman Rudolph who was only seven years older than Albert. They were more like friends than step father and stepson.

In 1920 Herman decided to move to Detriot where Albert and Herman got jobs as rug cleaners. About 1927 Herman bought two lots in Dearborn and sold one to Albert where he build a home and started a rug cleaning plant in his garage. Libby passed away in 1941 and Herman married the house keeper and she was known to the kids as "AuntAna".

In 1922 at the age of 23, Albert met his wife Agnes May Day and married in 1927. It was another five years before they had thier first child in 1932.

His wife Agnes passed suddenly in 1939 at the young age of 36. Albert was left to raise four small children, the youngest thirteen months. (My father)

In 1941 Albert marrried Dorathy Sayles who helped raise the kids. Birdie, Elsie, Bud and Joe.

Later in 1949 Albert decided to build a real plant but died bfore it was completed. Albert passed away in 1950 at the age of 51. Albert was layed to rest next to Agnes at the Grand-Lawn cemetary.
