My Maternal Great-Grandmother
Susannah May Dunderdale was born on November 15th, 1880 in Wallaceburg, Ontario Canada.
Susie was born to Joseph and Sarah Southgate Dunderdale, the 3rd out of 7 children.
She married William Day on August 1, 1900. They moved to Indiana in 1910 and came to Richmont, Michigan in 1915.
In 1935 Susie divoiced William and later married James Conn. The couple moved to Saginaw. After James death she moved to Mount Clemens.
In the marriage to William John Day, they had six children, four girls and two boys. At the time of her death still living with two girls and two boys.
In the marriage to James Conn there were no children.
During my investigation I ran accross many documents including s U.S. Naturization document dated June 30th, 1942 when Susie was 61. It states her former nationality is Great Britain which was a something I found strange as she was clearly born in Canada.
My thought is that Susie went to Great Britain to help during WWII as a nurse.
It also noted that Susie was a short person standing at 5 foot even and weighed 145 lbs at the age of 61.
Susie died on August 25, 1967 at the age of 86 while living in Mount Clemens and put to rest in Clinton Grove Cemetery.
